The Oldest Tournament in Spain
The Barcelona Open (called the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, Trofeo Conde de Godo) celebrated it’s 60th anniversary in 2012. An ATP World Tour 500 tournament, this clay court event is a highlight of the local social calendar. Spanish players have won the title 11 times, with Nadal winning the trophy on eight occassions.
This is Spain’s second most important tournament on the ATP calendar after the Madrid Open.
